Papayago Rescue House, Inc. is a Georgia-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, training, and responsibly rehoming captive parrots while advancing the standard of care through education and science-based practices.

Founded in 2015, our mission extends far beyond adoption. We believe every parrot deserves the opportunity to thrive physically, mentally, and emotionally. Each bird receives individualized care that includes disease testing, veterinary care, nutritional rehabilitation, behavioral assessment, positive reinforcement training, environmental enrichment, and ongoing welfare monitoring before being prepared for adoption.

Our organization also serves as an educational resource for current and prospective parrot caregivers. Through Papayago Academy, evidence-based educational programs, and community outreach, we strive to bridge the gap between emerging avian research and everyday companion parrot care. By empowering caregivers with knowledge, we help improve the lives of parrots both inside and outside our rescue.
