Dear Atlanta Freelance Writing

Writers are powerful. The ability to vividly imagine a world where you control the narrative is not bestowed upon just anyone. Writers are chosen. While the world evolves, they sit quietly in the background documenting the details that define our history. At the end of the day, someone must be the one to tell the story; that’s what I’m here for.

Growing up, writing was my voice. When no one would listen, I knew my written words would gain their full attention. On paper, I could be bold, unfiltered, and most importantly, myself. I was heard, felt, and understood on paper, while my voice struggled to carry that same power. I found joy in writing poetry, song lyrics, and short stories about whatever came to mind. Research papers and essays used to excite me. While everyone struggled to write beyond the title page, I was in my own world, going beyond the limits set by my teachers. Entering and winning local and national writing contests and being paid to write academic assignments for my peers. I had talent and didn’t know what to do with it.

• Contributing writer for Uniquely You: Metro Atlanta, a magazine dedicated to spotlighting extraordinary individuals with disabilities and neurodivergent disorders
• Published author of Dream Seller: The Guide to a Successful Interview, a go-to guide to prepare job seekers for phone, virtual, and in-person interviews

Today, I know my purpose is to give a voice to those who need to be heard: The job seeker who’s been overlooked, the non-profit aiming to bring awareness, the business owner ready to introduce themselves to the world, the disabled individual exceeding the world’s expectations. The voices that truly matter.
