About

Donnie’s Donuts is a locally owned and operated bakery founded by Patti (an Atlanta native) and Donald Summerlin, share a love of great food, strong neighborhoods, and the kind of businesses that become part of the fabric of a community. What began as a passion for making exceptional donuts has grown into a business built around quality, consistency, creativity, and genuine hospitality.

Now located in Atlanta in the Old 4th Ward since 2023, originally opened in Daytona Beach in 2015. After our first location was destroyed by Hurricane Matthew, we grew to 3 locations. Then in 2022 Hurricane Ian and Nicole hit back-to-back, taking all three of the locations, either by destruction, flood or loss of entire customer base. We limped back home in 2023 to keep our dream alive and are thankful each day we had a home to come back you.

At Donnie’s Donuts, we specialize in fresh, old-fashioned cake donuts made daily, along with pastries, specialty coffee, and other bakery offerings. Our approach is simple: use quality ingredients, make products people remember, and create an experience that feels personal rather than mass-produced. That commitment has helped Donnie’s build a loyal following with customers of all ages and has earned the bakery recognition well beyond Atlanta.

Patti and Donald remain actively involved in the day-to-day operation of the business, from product development and customer service to wholesale partnerships and community relationships. Donnie’s Donuts also supplies donuts and pastries to coffee shops, universities, hospitals, businesses, and other organizations, allowing the bakery to reach customers throughout the region while maintaining the same standards that define the retail shop.

For Patti and Donald, Donnie’s Donuts is ultimately about more than donuts. It is about building a local business that people trust, creating products we want to eat with ingredients we want to put in our own bodies so they're worth coming back for, and contributing something positive to the communities they call home.
