Cool Kids' Committee, Inc.

My name is Delores Powell, and I am the founder of Cool Kids Committee, Inc., a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering youth through mentoring, gang and bullying prevention, and meaningful community connections. For the past 10 years, I have poured my heart into creating spaces where young people feel safe, valued, and encouraged to choose purpose over popularity.

Cool Kids Committee provides hands-on opportunities that build confidence, creativity, leadership, and life skills. Through our Built 4 Success mentoring program, school partnerships, and community activities, we help youth navigate challenges, set goals, and recognize their potential. Our programs include journaling, art, sewing, cooking, step, sports, and conversations that encourage personal growth. We also connect youth with law enforcement to strengthen trust and understanding.
