Meet Troy Malone
Founder | Handsome Academy Studio
My name is Troy Malone, founder of Handsome Academy Studio. Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, I also spent part of my childhood in Wyandanch, Long Island. Growing up in the foster care system from ages 7 to 18 taught me valuable life lessons that helped shape the man and barber I am today.
My barbering journey began in 2001 after mastering the art of lining up my own hair. Growing up, I didn’t always have the luxury of regular haircuts, which often affected my confidence and self-esteem. That experience helped me understand just how powerful a fresh haircut can be.
What started as a love for the art of barbering became a passion for helping others look and feel their best.
At Handsome Academy Studio, I take pride in attention to detail, affordability, and availability, but customer service is what truly sets me apart. My goal is to provide a safe, respectful, and uplifting environment where every client feels valued and heard.
My philosophy is simple: “I want to give you the haircut YOU want, not just the haircut I’m good at giving.”
For me, barbering is more than a haircut. It’s about confidence, connection, and the experience.
