Ruffined Pet Wellness Club: Redefining the Standard of Pet Care

Luxury Care. Wellness First.

Ruffined Pet Wellness Club is redefining what pet care can look like in Columbus, Georgia, by bringing together the personalized service of luxury hospitality and a wellness-centered approach to dog daycare, overnight boarding, grooming, and enrichment.

Founded by Wassel and Jarnetha Lewis, Ruffined was born from a personal experience: when their family welcomed their Great Pyrenees, Sidon, they struggled to find a care environment that offered the level of comfort, confidence, and personalized attention they wanted for their own dog. Rather than compromise on that vision, they created the kind of place they wished existed—a home away from home where dogs receive more than supervision; they receive intentional care designed around their individual needs.

Located in Columbus’s Midtown district, Ruffined operates as a membership-based pet wellness club, creating opportunities to build familiarity and lasting relationships with both dogs and their parents. Each prospective canine member completes a temperament evaluation, and vaccination records are verified to help establish a safe, suitable environment for the club community.

What distinguishes Ruffined is its philosophy: wellness over warehousing.

Rather than treating daycare as continuous play or boarding as simply a place to spend the night, Ruffined emphasizes a thoughtful balance of structured socialization, physical activity, mental stimulation, and restorative rest. Dogs participate in appropriately matched playgroups and supervised activities, with breaks built into their routines to help manage fatigue and overstimulation.

Ruffined’s services extend beyond traditional daycare and boarding. Its offerings include enrichment-based day wellness, overnight accommodations, grooming and spa treatments, fitness activities, and water-based play at its distinctive dog waterpark. Experiences may incorporate sensory stimulation, interactive games, exercise, and individualized attention, allowing pet parents to select services that fit their dogs’ needs and personalities.

The facility is designed to deliver a hospitality-inspired experience, with climate-controlled accommodations, a welcoming environment, attentive care, and amenities intended to make each visit comfortable and engaging. Ruffined also emphasizes communication with pet parents through personalized photos and digital report cards that provide insight into their dogs’ activities, social interactions, and overall visit experience.

Safety is another important part of the club’s approach. Ruffined has highlighted its commitment to fire and life safety, including compliance with applicable NFPA 101 and NFPA 150 standards, alongside its temperament evaluation and vaccination verification processes.

Ultimately, Ruffined’s specialty is the integration of care, enrichment, wellness, and hospitality into one coordinated experience. Its goal is to give dogs opportunities to thrive while giving their parents greater confidence and peace of mind when work, travel, and everyday responsibilities take them away from home.

For Wassel and Jarnetha Lewis, Ruffined represents more than a pet care business. It reflects a belief that dogs are family members deserving of thoughtful attention, engaging experiences, and care that recognizes them as individuals.

At Ruffined Pet Wellness Club, the promise is simple: Luxury Care. Wellness First.
