Tabor House History Museum - Gilmer County Historical Society

Tour the Tabor House History Museum in a beautiful Victorian home which displays over 2500 artifacts that tell the story of the Cherokee People, the way of life for early Gilmer County Pioneers, and our military history. The museum is open on Thursdays, Fridays, and the first four Saturdays each month from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

The museum has two Open Houses each year where volunteers dress in turn-of-the-century clothes, artisans demonstrate crafts, musicians play music from the early 1900's, children demonstrate toys from that period, and civil war reenactors show and talk about their gear. The museum also periodically hosts Ghost Tours of the Tabor House.
