Hispanic Alliance GA

Hispanic Alliance Georgia (HAGA) is one of Georgia's largest nonprofit direct-service organizations dedicated to improving the lives of Latino families through comprehensive, culturally responsive wraparound services. Headquartered in Gainesville, Georgia, HAGA serves families across 15 counties in Northeast Georgia, helping individuals overcome barriers to stability while building pathways to self-reliance and economic mobility.

Each month, HAGA assists approximately 1,000 families through its Family Resource Center by providing culturally appropriate, nutritious food, with an emphasis on fresh and healthy options. Emergency food assistance allows hardworking families to redirect limited financial resources toward rent, utilities, medications, transportation, and other essential household expenses. HAGA also provides diapers, infant formula, hygiene products, and other necessities that support healthy child development and reduce hardship for families with young children.

Recognizing that poverty is multidimensional, HAGA offers far more than emergency assistance. Families receive individualized case management and connections to employment opportunities, housing resources, healthcare navigation, public benefits enrollment, educational programming, English language instruction, legal immigration services, parenting education, and referrals to trusted community partners. This holistic approach helps families move beyond crisis and toward long-term stability and self-sufficiency.

Although Latino families make significant contributions to Georgia's economy—particularly in Hall County, home to the World Poultry Capital—many continue to experience persistent barriers, including poverty, limited English proficiency, transportation challenges, affordable housing shortages, and limited access to culturally and linguistically appropriate services. HAGA exists to bridge these gaps by ensuring families have equitable access to the resources and opportunities needed to thrive.

Each year, HAGA serves more than 50,000 individuals through direct services, outreach initiatives, educational programs, and community partnerships. The organization's work is guided by five strategic pillars: Culture & Community Engagement, Economic Empowerment, Education, Family Well-Being, and Immigration Services. Within these focus areas, HAGA delivers evidence-based programming, community events, leadership development opportunities, and advocacy efforts that strengthen families while contributing to lasting systems change throughout Northeast Georgia.

HAGA's mission aligns with several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, including No Poverty, Zero Hunger, Good Health and Well-Being, Quality Education, Decent Work and Economic Growth, Reduced Inequalities, and Partnerships for the Goals.

HAGA prioritizes serving the region's most vulnerable families, particularly those living in poverty, families with young children, individuals with limited English proficiency, newcomers, and households with little or no support network.
