About
We would like to personally welcome you to Remedy Distillery. We are located in downtown Gainesville at 885 Main Street within sight of the railroad tracks and the train station in a rustic old warehouse that has its own charm and character. Come by and enjoy our covered patio area, sample our products, and relax.
Taste our smooth Remedy Straight Bourbon Whiskey and our Apple Remedy made with our straight bourbon. Each of these are small batch and single barrel, no blending of whiskies. While tasting, you should sip slowly and experience the different unique character that each barrel may have to offer. We also go to the extra trouble to tag and label each bottle to identify the bottle number of the batch and the barrel number that the bottle came from. Then we have our Red Remedy. This is our special cinnamon flavored whiskey like no other that you have tried before. Customers tell us that our Red Remedy is the cinnamon whiskey that the other brands want to be.
We have free tastings to sample our products. You can purchase cocktails. You can also purchase our bottled products and other Remedy Distillery merchandise. You may even find a Remedy for what’s ailing you.
Come on down and visit Remedy Distillery. We would like the opportunity for you to know who we are and allow us the privilege to get to know you. Looking forward to seeing you at the distillery.
Sincerely,
Remedy Distillery
REMEDY Story!
The ancestry of whiskey distilleries survived the period of prohibition, 1920 through 1933, by having their products sold legally as a medicinal tonic. Doctors would have to write a prescription, charging $3 for a person to get a pint of tonic. Then, pharmacies filled the prescription for $4. Adjusted for inflation, today’s cost would run about $95 for each pint. During prohibition, the law allowed each individual a maximum of 3 pints per month. It has been estimated that an average of over 11 million prescriptions were sold yearly during prohibition
