Elachee Nature Science Center

Elachee Nature Science Center promotes environmental understanding by getting children outside, by creating bridges between people and nature, and by caring for the Chicopee Woods Nature Preserve so that it is accessible now and in the future.

Some 29,000 children and youth from around the Northeast Georgia area are engaged in learning at Elachee each year. Through PreK-12 science and environmental education field trips and seasonal public events for families and nature lovers, as well as daily public access to the 12.24-mile Chicopee Woods hiking trail system, Elachee visitors can count on experiences that help them discover, learn and play outdoors. As well as improving the education and health of this northeast Georgia region, the Elachee family cultivates environmental stewards.
