Klassy Kats of Butts County

Klassy Kats of Butts County is more than a cat rescue—we're a lifeline for homeless cats and kittens in our community.

Founded with the belief that every cat deserves compassion, safety, and a loving home, Klassy Kats is a 100% volunteer-run, foster-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit serving Butts County, Georgia. Without a shelter building or paid staff, our dedicated volunteers open their homes and hearts to cats in need, providing individualized care until they find their forever families.

Our mission extends far beyond adoptions. We work tirelessly to reduce the homeless cat population through Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR), helping prevent thousands of unwanted kittens from being born while improving the lives of community cats. We also partner with local animal control to rescue cats that might otherwise have no second chance, giving them the medical care, socialization, and love they need to thrive.

Every cat that enters our program receives comprehensive veterinary care before adoption, including spay or neuter surgery, a microchip, testing for FeLV/FIV, age-appropriate vaccinations, deworming, flea prevention, and any additional medical treatment needed. Many arrive frightened, neglected, injured, or overlooked. With patience and dedicated foster care, we watch them transform into confident, loving companions.

What truly sets Klassy Kats apart is our commitment to matching each cat with the right family. We take the time to learn every cat's personality and every adopter's lifestyle because we believe successful adoptions are built on lasting relationships, not quick transactions. Whether a family is looking for a playful kitten, a gentle senior, or a shy cat who simply needs someone willing to give them time, we work to create the perfect match.

Education is another cornerstone of our mission. We strive to help our community better understand responsible pet ownership, the importance of spaying and neutering, and the value of community cat programs. By addressing the root causes of cat overpopulation, we are creating a more compassionate future for both pets and people.

Although we are a small rescue with limited resources, our impact reaches far beyond our size. Every adoption represents a life saved, a foster home opened for another cat in need, and a family whose life has been enriched by a new companion. Every TNR project prevents future suffering and reduces the number of cats entering local shelters.

Being recognized as Best of Georgia would be an incredible honor, not only for our organization but for the volunteers, foster families, donors, veterinarians, and adopters who make our work possible. This recognition would help shine a spotlight on the importance of cat rescue, encourage more people to adopt, volunteer, foster, and support lifesaving programs in our community.
