Vonda is the founder and head baker of Bleu Summit Baking Company in Jasper, a community-rooted bakery known for its artisan sourdough and thoughtfully crafted breads. Her journey began in 2023, shortly after the birth of her son, when she left her banking career to pursue her lifelong love of baking. With more than 20 years of experience in confections and a background shaped by art school in New York City and bakery work in Charleston, Vonda channeled her creativity and skill into the craft of breadmaking. What started with a single sourdough starter and a small self-serve "bread stand" quickly blossomed into a local phenomenon. By 2024, the stand was drawing customers from across neighboring towns, its honor system built on trust and community. That momentum led to the opening of Bleu Summit Baking Company's first brick-and-mortar location, where Vonda continues to combine artistry, tradition, and passion to create breads that bring people together.
