Salvation Army Macon

Established October 1899, The Salvation Army of Greater Macon is recognized as the longest running and only holistic emergency shelter in Central Georgia serving Macon-Bibb, Jones, Twiggs, Monroe, and Crawford counties working to fulfill our mission statement to "Preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ and meet human needs in His name without discrimination."

Our primary goal is to provide a safe haven for our guest with holistic strength-based case management, shelter, food, resources for employment, life-skills educational workshops, and other basic needs to benefit families and veterans who find themselves without a home. While leaning extensively on the guiding hand of Jesus Christ, The Army's Center of Hope provides emergency shelter 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Clients work with their case managers through the Coordinated Intake process to rapidly rehouse residents while working alongside them for up to two years. The program and its staff work to build a strong support network for individuals through referrals to other agencies while reducing barriers that prevent residents from maintaining permanent housing.
