About
About Jillian Simpson & Post-Surgery Care of Atlanta LLC
The roots of Post-Surgery Care of Atlanta LLC (PSCOA) date back to 2016, when founder and owner Jillian Simpson first formulated the business as Zora's Touch LLC. As Jillian's professional experience, education, and vision for the organization evolved, the business developed a more specialized focus and was renamed Post-Surgery Care of Atlanta LLC, becoming formally established under its current identity in December 2018.
In 2026, that history represents a decade of entrepreneurial development and nearly eight years under the Post-Surgery Care of Atlanta identity—years spent learning, serving, refining, and developing a more specialized understanding of the human and behavioral factors surrounding the surgical experience.
Jillian's professional foundation bridges direct patient care and behavioral science. Her healthcare background includes experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Medical Assistant, and Restorative Nursing Assistant, giving her firsthand exposure to patient support, functional recovery, healthcare environments, and the practical demands individuals may encounter beyond the clinical setting.
Her academic background further shaped the direction of PSCOA. Jillian holds a Bachelor of Science in General Psychology and a Master of Science in Industrial-Organizational Psychology, providing an educational foundation concentrated in behavioral science and the study of human behavior.
Together, those experiences led to a question that increasingly became central to the company's work:
What happens between receiving surgical instructions and successfully carrying them out in real life?
A surgical procedure may occur within a controlled clinical environment, but preparation and recovery extend well beyond that environment. Patients may have to coordinate transportation, understand and follow instructions, manage changing routines, communicate concerns, rely on support systems, attend follow-up appointments, and adapt their behavior while simultaneously responding to the physical and psychological demands associated with recovery.
That space is where PSCOA has continued to develop its specialty.
Today, Post-Surgery Care of Atlanta LLC is a specialized mobile and virtual post-surgical support company serving the surgical journey before, on the day of, and after a procedure. Services include Surgery Day's Concierge Transport+Stay, post-surgical support and recovery planning, and the company's Behavioral Surgical Risk Assessment (BSRA™), conducted through virtual consultation.
The BSRA™ represents the behavioral-science direction of PSCOA. It is designed to provide behavioral decision-support intelligence for surgical preparation and the post-surgical recovery process by examining behavioral risks, vulnerabilities, protective factors, and support considerations that may be relevant to preparation and recovery planning.
BSRA™ is not intended to replace the clinical judgment of a physician, surgeon, or other licensed healthcare professional, nor is it intended to provide medical or psychological diagnosis or medical clearance. Instead, its purpose is to contribute an additional behavioral perspective to the surgical journey and help identify areas where greater preparation, communication, resources, or support may be beneficial.
A Vision That Includes Physicians, Surgeons, Patients & Support Systems
As founder and owner, Jillian's vision for PSCOA extends beyond providing assistance to an individual patient. The company's broader purpose centers on the interconnected roles of physicians, surgeons, surgical teams, patients, and the support systems patients depend upon before and after a procedure.
Each may hold an important piece of the surgical and recovery process.
Physicians and surgeons bring medical and surgical expertise. Surgical teams provide clinical care and coordination. Patients must translate professional guidance, instructions, and intentions into behavior outside the clinical environment. Support systems—including family members, friends, caregivers, and other designated individuals—may become responsible for transportation, observation, communication, medication routines, household assistance, appointment coordination, and other recovery demands.
PSCOA's behavioral-science orientation introduces another question into that relationship:
Do the patient and the people surrounding the patient have the behavioral capacity, support, understanding, and preparation necessary to carry the recovery plan forward once the patient transitions from the clinical environment into everyday life?
That is why PSCOA's vision centers on behavioral decision-support intelligence.
The goal is not to make clinical or surgical decisions for physicians and surgeons, nor to make personal decisions for patients. Rather, PSCOA seeks to contribute behavioral information that can strengthen preparation, identify potential vulnerabilities, recognize protective factors, illuminate support-system considerations, and encourage more informed planning and communication surrounding the surgical experience.
This commitment to physicians, surgeons, patients, and their support systems reflects both why Post-Surgery Care of Atlanta was created and why the company has remained in business and continued evolving.
From its beginnings as Zora's Touch LLC in 2016, to the formal establishment of Post-Surgery Care of Atlanta LLC in 2018, to its present development as a specialized post-surgical support company incorporating behavioral science, PSCOA's evolution reflects a consistent purpose: to better understand and support the human and behavioral dimensions surrounding surgery.
For Jillian Simpson, post-surgical support is not simply about completing a series of tasks after a procedure. It is about understanding the interaction among the patient, their behavior, their environment, their support system, the healthcare professionals guiding their care, and the demands placed upon them throughout surgical preparation and recovery.
That perspective continues to guide the company's next chapter.
