About
I am Piper Harris, a Licensed Professional Counselor and founder of Untangled Mind, a specialized mental health practice based in Marietta, Georgia. My practice focuses on treating adults experiencing post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), complex trauma, severe anxiety, and related psychological distress, with additional expertise in the unique challenges faced by first responders and law enforcement professionals.
Untangled Mind was founded on the principle that effective psychotherapy should be intentional, individualized, and measurable. Rather than relying solely on traditional talk therapy, I utilize an integrative cognitive behavioral approach that incorporates neuroscience, attachment theory, somatic regulation, and evidence-based trauma interventions.
Central to my practice is the Untangled Mind Pathway™, a structured clinical framework that guides clients through psychological education, nervous system regulation, attachment patterns, cognitive and behavioral change, and long-term goal achievement. Treatment is supported by comprehensive psychological assessments, ongoing measurement of clinical progress, individualized workbooks, and clearly defined therapeutic objectives.
Beyond individual psychotherapy, Untangled Mind provides specialized trauma intensives, adult clinical evaluations, and psychoeducational services. I am also the developer of the Untangled Mind™ Assessment Engine, a clinical decision-support platform designed to help mental health professionals interpret standardized assessments, identify treatment priorities, and incorporate measurement-based care into everyday practice.
My work extends beyond the therapy office through professional education, interdisciplinary collaboration, and advocacy for greater accountability and measurable outcomes within the mental health profession.
My goal is not simply to help individuals feel better during a therapy session, but to equip them with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to function independently long after treatment concludes. I believe successful therapy should ultimately prepare clients to no longer need it.
