When HELP Can't Wait

The vision of When Help Can't Wait as an organization evolved after years of observing that

there are no area organizations offering direct support to the in-home residents in nursing

homes in and around Augusta. We grew from concept to reality in late 2006, and received

approval as a 501(c)3 on January 11, 2007. Activity began immediately with donated office

space and start-up costs funded with contributions. We are now in our 14th year of operations

with a more permanent location serving thousands of nursing home residents yearly.

When Help Can't Wait is a nonprofit organization that helps nursing home residents throughout

the CSRA with no family support by specifically addressing their urgent and

personal needs. We restore dignity through the supply of basic necessities such as hygiene

products, clothing, and music and art supplies for mental stimulation, all of which improve

quality of life for the forgotten within our community.

Our main goal is to enhance and enrich the lives of nursing home residents. A majority of the

residents do not have family in the area to visit with or provide for them, and may often go

without comfort and convenience items that we take for granted. Through the help of volunteers,

we have several programs established to bring necessities and smiles to these residents.
