The Ford Field & River Club Golf Club

A storied sanctuary in the Georgia Lowcountry, The Ford has roots that reach back more than a century to 1917, when American industrialist Henry Ford first encountered the land. Overlooking the Ogeechee River, this Lowcountry refuge instantly staked a claim in Ford’s imagination. He and his wife Clara soon claimed it as their winter retreat.

A private sporting community with an ever-agreeable coastal climate, The Ford’s pace ebbs and flows with the tides of the river.

The Ford’s easy climate drinks in sunshine and blue skies for nine months out of the year, inviting families to pursue their favorite sporting pastimes while savoring the seasons.

Days are spent setting out from the Deepwater Marina with fishing poles in tow, teeing off at your own pace on the Pete Dye championship golf course, saddling up at the Equestrian Center, or engaging up close with wildlife at the Naturalist Center.
