About

In October of 2004 at 129 West Haynes Street George’s Quarters began in the original living quarters of Mr. George D. Warthen under the ownership of Lisa & Carl McDonald. In 2006 Joey Giddens and his brother, Tracy Giddens (and his wife Cindy Giddens) purchased Geo.’s Quarters from McDonalds. Joey Giddens has managed George’s Quarters since its opening in 2004. Geo.’s Quarters operated as an Antique, Bridal, Home, and gift store for years before transitioning into more bridal & gifts then started adding apparel in 2009.  In January of 2012 the Giddens purchased the Historic Pringle Building at 114 East Haynes Street.  The Pringle Building opened in October 2012 that offered shopping at 2 great stores, Warthen Lane Interiors and George’s Quarters. Warthen Lane was open at this location for 9 years before moving to their current location.  In 2021 Glow Boutique & More opened and operated for 3 years in the Suite A location before expanding their offerings in their hometown of Milledgeville, Ga. In Suite C George’s Quarters continues to operates but as we near 20 years being opened it is time we expand our offerings with the opportunity to occupy Suite A of The Pringle Building we see opportunity to re-brand what we are doing on Haynes St. once known as Cotton Avenue.  George’s Quarters has no meaning to The Pringle Building as original name was derived from the 129 West Haynes Street. Going forward we want to recognize a family that was very influential in the growth of Sandersville after the Civil War.  Mr. Coleman Robert Pringle was very important to the Sandersville History.  Our building is named after him.  Beginning in October of 2024 we want to recognize them to the fullest and expand our offerings and tell this historical story of The Pringles.

Our goal is to open Suite A as Nora’s at Pringle Mercantile offering Women’s & gifts before Kaolin Festival on our 20th Anniversary the 2nd week of October.

So, going forward and starting October 2024 the shops on the 1st floor will be recognized as DBA-Pringle Mercantile. This goes back to the original use of The Pringle Building when Coleman Robert Pringle built The Pringle Building.

The left side of the building known as Suite A:

Women’s & Gifts (Nora’s) named after Lenora Brantley Pringle the wife of Coleman Robert Pringle and the reason he moved to Sandersville. She was called Nora.

The right side of the building known as Suite C:

Men’s & Gifts and once called Geo.’s Quarters for almost 20 years will be Named after Coleman Robert Pringle (Cole’s) the most influential man of his times after the civil war. He was President of the Sandersville & Tennille railroad, mayor, county commissioner, member of the state legislature, one of the original chartering members of the BOE, the father of prohibition in Georgia, member the Methodist building committee in 1877, Owner of The Pringle Mercantile, owned cotton warehouses on cotton avenue, many other accolades. Was influential in helping business startup after civil war as a leader & successful business mind.

The 2nd floor is our Event Venue that we rent out for many private events a year. We host events such as: Baby Showers, Birthday Parties, Bridal Showers, Business Meetings, Christmas Parties, Engagement Parties, Rehearsal Dinners, Reunions (Family & Class), Weddings, Wedding Receptions, and so much more.
