About
Ships of the Sea Maritime Museum invites visitors to discover Savannah’s history through its deep connection to the sea. Located inside the historic William Scarbrough House, built in 1819, the museum features an extensive collection of ship models, maritime paintings, artifacts, and exhibitions that explore the people, vessels, and stories that shaped Savannah and the wider maritime world.
Beyond the museum, guests can explore one of the largest private gardens in Savannah’s Historic District, which is free and open to the public. Ships of the Sea also offers guided tours, family programs, lectures, workshops, special exhibitions, and evening events that bring history, art, and community together in memorable ways.
Whether you are a history enthusiast, an art lover, a family exploring Savannah, or simply looking for a peaceful place to wander, Ships of the Sea offers a distinctive experience in the heart of downtown Savannah.
