Local Coffee & Bagels

Hi! I’m Shawna, the owner of Local. Coffee & Bagels in Savannah. I opened Local. because I wanted to create the kind of coffee shop I would actually want to go to. Somewhere that feels personal, welcoming, creative and connected to the community.

I’m very hands on with the business. I work in the shop, create the menu, develop our seasonal drinks, handle the marketing and constantly look for ways to make Local. better. A lot of what we do is intentionally different from bigger coffee chains. We source our coffee locally, make many of our syrups in house with simple ingredients and bring in authentic New York bagels.

Supporting other local businesses is also really important to me. I love finding ways to work with local vendors, artists and other small businesses, whether that is through markets, events, collaborations or products we feature in the shop.

Local. has grown into more than just a coffee shop for me. I want it to be somewhere people genuinely enjoy coming to, where customers know the people behind the counter and where being part of the local community actually means something.
