Behind the Lens: Brownieland Pictures’ Journey of Storytelling for Good

Brownieland Pictures, a full-service video production company working exclusively with nonprofits, has been named a winner in the 2024 Best of Georgia Regional Awards. Voted on by clients and supporters, the award celebrates businesses that deliver exceptional value and impact. For Brownieland, the recognition is a testament to nearly two decades of using storytelling to inspire change.

The Best of Georgia Awards, presented by Gbj.com, are decided entirely by public votes, making this honor especially meaningful. It reflects the trust and appreciation of those who have experienced the company’s ability to amplify nonprofits’ voices. “We know our clients make a difference in people’s lives,” says co-founder Robyn Ellis Kranz. “Every story matters, and sharing those stories motivates others to give back, make changes, and build relationships.”

Brownieland Pictures was founded over 18 years ago by Kranz and Randy Frostig, two storytellers with a passion for community impact. Kranz, a journalism graduate from California, discovered her calling while producing public affairs segments for an NBC affiliate. Randy, an Atlanta native with a television and film background, was inspired by his time as a Weather Channel storm chaser, witnessing the resilience of communities rebuilding after disasters. Together, they created Brownieland Pictures to tell “stories for the greater good.”

From concept to completion, Brownieland’s process revolves around understanding the unique needs of nonprofits. Whether brainstorming creative ideas, producing compelling footage, or crafting the final edit, the team focuses on creating emotionally resonating videos that drive action. Their portfolio includes stories that raise awareness, rally support, and help organizations secure crucial funding.

What sets Brownieland apart is their dedication to building relationships. “We pride ourselves on our connection with our partners,” says Kranz. “Communication is vital, and we strive to make messages heard and impactful.” This client-focused approach has cemented the company’s reputation as a trusted partner for nonprofits navigating complex challenges.

The hashtag #storiesforthegreatergood embodies their mission. It’s not just about telling stories; it’s about telling stories that spark change. Whether highlighting an organization’s success or shedding light on pressing social issues, Brownieland’s work motivates viewers to get involved and give back.

Winning the Best of Georgia Regional Award is a proud moment for the company, but it’s also a reminder of their purpose. “Being able to work alongside some of the most generous and selfless organizations is such a gift,” says Kranz. “We’re honored to be part of the changes being made in the nonprofit sphere and hope our work continues to inspire others.”

For Brownieland Pictures, this recognition is more than an accolade—it’s a celebration of the stories they’ve helped tell and the lives they’ve touched, one frame at a time.
