How Bennett Law & Mediation’s Zealous Advocacy and Compassionate Counsel Bring Ideal Resolutions

Whether you’re facing a divorce, dealing with a troubling business dispute or struggling to figure out whether litigation is the right path for your situation, you need a trusted advocate to guide you through every step of the legal process. It’s critical to not only obtain the aggressive representation and grounded advice you deserve, but also to find the legal solution that makes the most sense for your scenario. Whether you’re dealing with a sensitive family issue or a tense employee dispute, having an accomplished attorney by your side will bring true peace of mind as you navigate a challenging and often confusing time.

At Bennett Law & Mediation Services, we pride ourselves on providing the personalized legal services that will save you the most time, money and headaches throughout your case. Brittany Bennett, attorney at law and certified mediator, founded the firm alongside her husband Andrew Bennett, who is also an attorney and certified mediator. With their extensive background on all sides of business, from management to ownership, as well as their problem-solving skills, the Bennetts are client-oriented and are focused on personalized service. The Warner Robins-based firm specializes in family law and business law, covering a wide range of practice areas from military divorce and employment law to legal compliance and corporate law, through both the litigation and mediation processes.

Prior to Brittany and Andrew Bennett opening their firm or even beginning to practice law, they worked together in the restaurant industry for many years, honing their strengths and sparking their passions that led them to become attorneys and mediators.

“In the restaurant world, we were both in management roles and we worked with a lot of people,” Brittany says. “And even though we weren’t mediators then or weren't practicing law, we were the ones in charge of resolving disputes, whether it was between two employees, a manager and an associate or addressing a customer’s concerns. We've been handling contentious disputes for a very long time and that was part of the reason we offer mediation services, because we know and recognize that not every problem needs to be litigated.

“We believe that even though we're zealous in the courtroom, it's important to explore a resolution that may not cost thousands of dollars, because it's just not always the best solution. Our role as attorneys also includes being a counselor. We’re always seeking to listen to client’s concerns, and not just legal concerns, but familial and personal relationship concerns and challenges as well. This goes for different areas of practice as well. We do more than litigate; we also give meaningful business advice to avoid litigation. We do more than spring into action, we listen and analyze first. We understand that emotions run high in times of crisis. We answer the questions that clients need answered such as, ‘What would you do if you were in my shoes? What makes the most sense?’ And it's not always a calculated legal analysis, we remember that there’s a human element to every case.”

The dynamic duo work together as a team, running Bennett Law & Mediation Services alongside their experienced legal staff. Andrew practices family law exclusively—primarily divorce and military divorce—while Brittany practices all that encompasses business law, from employment issues to contract disputes to business disputes. In most of her cases, Brittany represents the businesses or employers.

“That's mainly because of my background in business; I tend to gravitate toward, understand and empathize more with the employer or business owner,” she says.

“I've always had an entrepreneurial spirit. I come from a long line of business owners. My parents have always owned businesses; my grandparents owned businesses. Anything from residential real estate to pizza places to gas stations; my grandparents owned restaurants and a hotel as well. So, I feel like it’s kind of ingrained in me to have my own business and doing so helps me better understand the intricacies of representing businesses and business owners.”

The Bennetts also enjoy the freedom and flexibility that business ownership and running a family-owned practice brings, which allows them to commit fully to their clients’ needs.

“I enjoy the freedom to make my own schedule, but not just the freedom that it gives me personally,” Brittany says. “With having two young kids at home, my partner Andrew and I can switch out at home and at work. There are times where he'll have a hearing and he's at work all day and I'm home with the kids and I'm still working remotely. We'll kind of tag team both areas of our life, and doing so also allows us to dedicate fully to our clients as well.

“We’re always working, but it’s also what we enjoy, so we can focus on what the client needs whether it's an after-hours call or going to a property division at someone's house on a weekend. Whatever it is, we don't have to worry about some of the procedures we may have if we worked for someone else. And we can also make the decisions that matter most to our clients when it matters. We don’t have to report to anyone to see if they agree with a decision we’ve made. Therefore, results are streamlined for clients.”

What else sets Bennett Law & Mediation Services apart? They’re also one of a few select firms in Central Georgia where all of their attorneys are also certified mediators. Offering services beyond just litigation allows them to provide the service that will best fit their clients’ needs to save stress and money in the long run.

“Not everyone offers that as a solution or a path,” Brittany says. “We're really client-focused and people-oriented. People aren't a file number to us. We have a deeper connection with our clients. Most of my business clients are people that I talk to on a regular basis, not just when they have a problem.”

The award-winning firm is also very involved in giving back to the community, striving to be leaders in everything they do. Brittany is the president of the Young Lawyers Division for Houston County and was just recently elected to serve as treasurer/secretary of the Houston County Bar Association. She is also a board member of Rotary of Warner Robins.
