About
Paradise Garden is one of America's most extraordinary artist-built environments and a must-see destination in northwest Georgia. Created by internationally acclaimed folk artist Rev. Howard Finster, the four-acre site is an immersive world of colorful mosaics, whimsical architecture, hand-painted messages, and imaginative sculptures that blur the line between art, landscape, and storytelling.
Beginning at age 59, Howard Finster created more than 46,000 works of art and transformed Paradise Garden into his life's masterpiece. His artwork gained international recognition through collaborations with R.E.M., Talking Heads, and other artists, appeared in major exhibitions including the Venice Biennale, and is held in the permanent collections of institutions such as the Smithsonian and the High Museum of Art.
Today, Paradise Garden is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and welcomes thousands of visitors each year from across the United States and around the world. Wander four acres of unforgettable folk art, explore iconic landmarks like the World's Folk Art Church, stroll mosaic-covered pathways, tour galleries and exhibitions, and discover why this remarkable place continues to inspire artists, travelers, and curious minds of all ages.
Whether you're planning a day trip or an overnight getaway in one of our three onsite Airbnbs, Paradise Garden is a one-of-a-kind experience you won't find anywhere else.
