Ruff's Custom Coastal Adventures

RUFF’S CUSTOM COASTAL ADVENTURES

DON’T JUST VISIT GEORGIA. EXPERIENCE IT.

From the marshes and rivers of the Georgia coast to the historic streets of Darien and the fields and woods beyond, Ruff’s Custom Coastal Adventures connects people with the outdoors through authentic experiences, education, and adventure.

Born and raised on Jekyll Island, Captain Christopher Ruff has spent a lifetime on Georgia’s waterways and more than 25 years working in natural-resource management and law enforcement with the Georgia Department of Natural Resources and National Park Service.

That experience is the foundation of Ruff’s Custom Coastal Adventures—a business built on local knowledge, outdoor expertise, safety, conservation, and a genuine love for Georgia's natural resources.

ADVENTURE ON THE WATER

Cast a line. Watch dolphins in the wild. Explore remote marshes and coastal islands. Discover the Altamaha Delta and Sapelo Island. Enjoy a sunset or simply slow down and experience the peace of Georgia's coastal waters.

Our custom adventures include fishing charters, eco tours, wildlife excursions, island adventures, family experiences, and custom coastal trips designed around what you want to see and do.

But enjoying the outdoors also means knowing how to do it safely.

OUTDOOR EDUCATION & SAFETY

Ruff’s Custom Coastal Adventures provides boating safety courses designed to give boaters the knowledge and confidence they need to safely navigate Georgia's coastal waters.

We also offer hunter safety education, firearms training, and practical outdoor instruction, drawing on decades of professional experience in law enforcement, natural-resource management, firearms safety, and the outdoors.

Our goal isn't simply to teach people how to use a boat or firearm—it's to develop safe, responsible, knowledgeable outdoorsmen and women.

HUNT GEORGIA

For those looking to experience Georgia's wild side, Ruff’s Custom Coastal Adventures also provides guided big-game hunting experiences, including:

Turkey • Wild Hog • Alligator

Whether you're pursuing a gobbler through the spring woods, tracking wild hogs, or experiencing the unique challenge of an alligator hunt, these adventures are about more than the harvest.

They're about being outdoors, understanding the land, respecting the resource, and experiencing the traditions that have been passed down through generations.

EXPERIENCE HISTORIC DARIEN

Our adventures don't stop at the water's edge.

Historic Tours of Downtown Darien by Golf Cart takes guests through one of Georgia's most fascinating coastal communities.

Cruise the streets of historic Darien. Hear the stories behind its historic buildings and landmarks. Learn about the shrimping and maritime heritage that shaped the community. Discover the people, places, and events that helped make Darien what it is today.

Established in 1736, Darien has a story worth telling—and we're proud to help tell it.

It's not just a tour. It's Darien's history coming alive.

MORE THAN A TOUR. IT'S A CONNECTION.

At Ruff’s Custom Coastal Adventures, we believe the best experiences are the ones that leave you with a story to tell.

Whether you're casting a line in the marsh, watching dolphins beside the boat, exploring an island, learning the history of Darien from a golf cart, pursuing Georgia's wild game, learning to safely handle a firearm, or gaining the confidence to safely operate a boat, you're doing more than taking a trip.

You're experiencing Georgia.

Local knowledge.

Real experience.

Outdoor education.

Authentic adventure.
