Adventure Bags, Inc.

Adventure Bags, Inc. is a Georgia-based nonprofit dedicated to providing comfort, security, and hope to children experiencing displacement and crisis.

For 15 years, Adventure Bags, Inc. has supported children who suddenly find themselves removed from everything familiar due to foster care placement, domestic violence, homelessness, house fires, human trafficking, natural disasters, and other traumatic circumstances. In many of these situations, children leave with little or nothing of their own.

Our mission is simple but powerful: to provide these children with something they can call their own during one of the most difficult moments of their lives.

Each Adventure Bag is an age- and gender-appropriate backpack filled with overnight essentials and comfort items, including hygiene products, a blanket, stuffed animal, books, activities, and other items designed to meet a child's immediate needs during the first 24–48 hours of displacement.

We work alongside agencies throughout Georgia that are on the front lines of serving children in crisis, including law enforcement agencies, fire departments, the Department of Family and Children Services (DFCS), domestic violence and homeless shelters, child advocacy organizations, human trafficking response organizations, and other community partners.

Since our founding in 2011, Adventure Bags has provided more than 60,000 children with a bag of their own, and our network has grown to more than 850 partner agencies across Georgia.
