Sharing God's love through art!
Sharon Dye lives with her husband, Burton; two children, Jackson and Lana and a Morkie named Brinie. Born in Laurel, Mississippi, she has a passion for flowers, gardening, birds, the beach, and the beauty of God’s creation. Moving to Georgia in 1987 to teach school opened many doors. Sharon taught first, second, and third grades. Continuing her education, Sharon completed her Master’s Degree in Elementary Education, her Specialist in Educational Leadership and her Doctorate Degree in Administration and Supervision from Georgia Southern University. An educator for thirty years and while serving as a dedicated elementary principal for eighteen of those years, there was not much time for hobbies or special interest. Since retiring in 2017, Sharon has been actively learning and working to create works of art. Seeking something that provided relaxation, joy, and a sense of accomplishment, Sharon reached out to painting. Now Sharon is a teacher and an artist!
Her love for art and flowers began at an early age. She loved to draw, color and spend time with both grandmothers who were avid gardeners. Her love of peonies, the bougainvillea, daisies, and hydrangeas were among the few that she admired and watched her grandmothers cater too.
Considering herself a Southern Expressionist, Sharon paints with acrylics using broad strokes and colors. Her paintings thus far has been centered around flowers and landscapes. However, she does not want to be pinned down into an overall style or genre. She continually searches for ideas that open new doors for expression and creativity. Sharon is a life-long learner as she is navigating this journey of art and discovery. It is her joy and honor to share her paintings with you! Smile and enjoy!
