At Gwinnett Swim, swimming is more than a sport; it’s a life skill rooted in safety, confidence, and peace of mind. Serving families across Gwinnett County, the school delivers results through intentional instruction that prioritizes survival first, then skill.
Programs begin for swimmers as young as eight months and continue through adulthood, focusing on floating, breathing, body control, and staying calm in the water. From there, swimmers progress naturally to stronger technique and endurance, reflecting Gwinnett Swim’s guiding belief: Where the foundation of swimming is born.
Founder Christy Williams’ background in education and commitment to drowning prevention shaped the school’s results-driven approach. Rather than relying on flotation devices or false confidence, Gwinnett Swim emphasizes one-on-one instruction and measurable progress from the first lesson. Core to the program is Aquatic Survival Instruction (ASI), teaching non-swimmers to survive independently in water. ASI FasTrack supports older beginners, and AngelFish Adaptive Aquatics ensures safe, effective instruction for all abilities.
Beyond survival, Gwinnett Swim offers private and small-group lessons, stroke development, swim team prep, adult lessons, aquatic fitness classes, SilverSneakers, and open lap swim. Its USA Swimming–sanctioned team, the Krakens, provides a clear pathway from confidence to competition.
A second indoor heated pool expands access and efficiency, giving families more time in the water without compromising instruction. With two 25-yard pools and modern amenities, the school serves the community at an even higher level.
Gwinnett Swim’s steady growth earned the 2025 Best of Georgia Award, following Regional wins in 2023 and 2024. Christy and her team remain focused on expanding access, strengthening programs, and raising the standard for swim education in Georgia…building confidence, one swimmer at a time.
