Go Nuts or Go Home!

Brooklet has one Saturday each September when peanuts, tractors, cloggers and a parade all make perfect sense together. On September 19, the 37th Annual Brooklet Peanut Festival takes over 209 Railroad Street for the day.

The Brooklet Peanut Festival has the kind of schedule that leaves little room for standing around wondering what to do next. The festival parade rolls out at 10 a.m., while arts and crafts booths, food vendors and amusement vendors open for the day.

By lunchtime, things get considerably louder.

Tractors at Noon

At noon, the tractor races begin on Warnock Street, giving the festival one of its most distinctly rural Georgia traditions. At roughly the same time, the day’s free entertainment is already underway back at the festival site.

The 2026 entertainment schedule starts at 11 a.m. with the State Prison Cloggers, followed by the Southeast Bulloch Band at 11:30. The Third Infantry Military Band performs at noon, and the Pachitla Creek Pickers take the stage at 12:30 p.m.

The afternoon keeps moving with Rockin Randall, Jazmine Wilson, Red Wing, Mike Riddle and the Good Time Dancers filling the schedule before a live band takes over at 6 p.m. The festival wraps at 8.

A Saturday Built for Wandering

That leaves plenty of time between performances and tractor races to browse arts and crafts vendors, find something worth eating and make a lap through the amusements. The festival also offers free shuttle service from designated stops, a useful option when a small Bulloch County town suddenly has a much busier Saturday than usual.

The appeal here is not complicated. Brooklet takes one of Georgia’s most familiar crops and builds an entire community day around it, complete with music, shopping, food, local performers and tractors racing down Warnock Street.

In other words, this is not the Saturday to wear your most precious shoes.
