Located at Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay, TRF-KB exists for one clear purpose: To fix submarines by providing unparalleled industrial-level maintenance and logistics support that keeps the U.S. Navy’s elite submarine fleet in peak condition, and safely on patrol around the world.
For almost four decades, TRF-KB has quietly built a reputation for doing skilled and complex work the right way; supporting a strategic deterrence mission that plays a central role in national security.
An outstanding reputation forged by consistent results, TRF-KB continues to support the maintenance, overhaul, modernization, and repair of Ohio-class ballistic and guided missile submarines … But also with focus on the future, preparing for the arrival of the first Columbia-class ballistic missile submarine later this decade.
TRF-KB combines proven shipyard maintenance practices with modern techniques to meet evolving demands, ensuring systems perform safely and reliably, and in keeping with their motto, “Keeping Warships…War Ready.”
Just as important is the way TRF-KB invests in its workforce. Its federally accredited Apprenticeship Program is widely recognized for producing highly skilled journeyman-level technicians through a four-year blend of college coursework, trade theory, and hands-on training. The result is a steady pipeline of talent capable of meeting the demanding standards, year after year.
That consistency has earned lasting trust. TRF-KB was voted a Best of Georgia Award winner in 2023, 2024, and again in 2025, with customer votes reflecting confidence built through performance.
As one of the top three employers in Camden County, supporting more than 1,800 civilian employees alongside active-duty Navy personnel, TRF-KB’s impact extends into the surrounding community as well as the submarine fleet it serves.
