Gwinnett Swim embarked on its journey in 2014, starting in a humble 1200 square foot warehouse. With just two small pools and two dedicated instructors, the goal was crystal clear: to impart essential swimming and water survival skills to individuals of all ages. As fate would have it, the unwavering dedication and focus on customer service led to rapid growth.
Within a year, Gwinnett Swim had outgrown its initial space, necessitating a move to a more expansive 3000 square foot facility. This expansion included the addition of a two-lane, fifteen-yard pool. However, growth wasn't confined to their physical space; it also encompassed their commitment to their students' progress.
Recognizing the need for year-round classes and skill maintenance, Gwinnett Swim introduced programs designed to help swimmers continuously improve. These Maintenance and Growth classes allowed new swimmers to maintain their skills while fostering ongoing growth.
Christy Williams, the owner of Gwinnett Swim, shared her insight, saying, "We quickly realized our swimmers needed to continue building on their survival swim skills and knew we had to grow just as they were! We began offering year-round lessons as well as Maintenance and Growth classes that do just as they say: encourage new swimmers to maintain the skills they've learned while fostering growth as a swimmer."
The dedication to quality instruction and exceptional customer service culminated in the opening of their remarkable 8000 square foot facility on Lanier Islands Parkway in 2019. This state-of-the-art facility boasts an indoor heated, 5-lane, 25-yard pool with dive blocks, modern changing rooms, family changing room, and a viewing area for parents. Beyond being a swimming school, it's a place where individuals of all ages can thrive in the water.
Gwinnett Swim offers a comprehensive range of services, extending well beyond survival swim classes. Their offerings include multi-level small group classes, stroke classes, swim team preparation, USA Swimming multi-level swim team, and adult swim classes. Additionally, they offer aquatic fitness classes and a program tailored for silver swimmers, ensuring that most everyone in the community has access to the benefits of swimming. Currently, Gwinnett Swim is in the process of expanding and is building a facility housing an additional 4 lane pool.
