Gotta A Peach Pass? Pay Attention
Big changes are on the way for Peach Pass users! If you frequent the Metro Atlanta area, or are subject to the toll roads, then you're familiar with the Peach Pass. This ticket to easier commutes will be undergoing upgrades! Starting December 6, the system will be down for a few days to roll out improvements, including a new look and features for users. Here's what you can anticipate so the ride goes smoothly.
Most importantly: In preparation for the relaunch, from close-of-business December 12-16, Peach Pass customers and customer service agents will be unable to access Peach Pass accounts as they transfer the data for 875,000 accounts and 1.8 million vehicles to the new platforms. Customers must update and verify that their contact and email information are correct before December 11th. Tolls will still be charged, so make sure your account has adequate funds to cover! Then, starting the week of December 17, you will need to download the new app.
These updates and renovations are meant to fix some of the common complaint and challenges with the current system. We can say goodbye to confusing toll charges and limited account access, and hello to a hassle-free commute.
The Step By Step Process, according to Peachpass.com:
- Customers need to uninstall Peach Pass GO! 2.0 and install the new Peach Pass GO! app to access account management from their mobile device.
- Account usernames and passwords will be transferred, and customers can continue to use their existing login credentials, including their existing Peach Pass PIN.
- If a customer has multiple accounts, separate logins with separate usernames need to be created for each account.
- New customers are required to have an email address to open accounts.
- A debit card or credit card must be on file to set up automatic account replenishment; a bank account may not be used.
- Based on usage totals, the automatic replenishment amount will be charged quarterly to the designated card. Customers may opt out of this feature, if desired.
- Manual online payments (clicking “make a payment” versus scheduled, automatic payments) will only be allowed for accounts when the payment amount is sufficient to bring the account back into good standing – to the threshold amount – or when the payment exceeds the threshold amount.
The new mobile app will be used for account services only and will no longer offer the non-toll-mode declaration option for carpoolers. Peach Pass Customers who carpool along the I-85 Express and I-85 Extension Express Lanes will need to download the new Peach Pass Verify Mobile App from the Apple Store and/or Google Play Store to claim free toll benefits. Starting December 2nd, Peach Pass Verify will be the only way for Peach Pass Customers to claim carpool benefits.
The Peach Pass is the successor to the Georgia Cruise Card. It was created in 2011 and makes use of express lines to help thin out all of that traffic congestion. It's commonly used amongst commuters, especially those who drive by themselves and can't make use of HOV lanes. There's a Peach Pass lane to get you to a vacation, help you navigate the airport, and a ton of other places toll roads connect.
