No WiFi, Just Wildlife
If your teen’s summer plan involves binge-watching shows from under a blanket burrito, it might be time for a spiritual (and literal) wake-up call. At North Georgia Wildlife & Safari Park’s Creation Encounters Overnight Teen Camp, campers swap screens for sunscreen and earbuds for animal calls. No TikTok. No tablets. Just tents, teamwork, time with camels and kangaroos, and plenty of space to grow in faith and friendship.
Starting June 24, this Christ-centered adventure launches the first of two weeklong sessions. Week 1 (June 24–27) is designed for ages 11–14, while Week 2 (July 8–11) welcomes campers ages 12–17. This unique camp is faith-forward and phone-free, designed to help kids connect with each other, the natural world, and something bigger than themselves. And while there’s no WiFi, campers still get plenty of signal—just the kind that comes during sunset prayers, hands-on service, and the focus that returns when the phones stay home.
Faith, Fur, and Friendships That Stick
At Creation Encounters, the days start with feeding animals and end with prayer under the stars. In between, there’s laughter, learning, and a “living in the moment” kind of experience. Creation Encounters is an overnight camp, so kids are in it start to finish—sleeping on-site, waking up to barn sounds, and ending the week a little more confident than they started. Sessions are small and age-specific, so things feel close-knit, not crowded. And yes, counselors are right there with them—bug spray in hand!
Here’s what to know before drop-off:
- Week 1: June 24–27 (ages 11–14)
- Week 2: July 8–11 (ages 12–17)
- Cost: $500 (scholarships available—just ask!)
- Drop-off: Tuesdays at 3 p.m. | Pick-up: Fridays at 11 a.m.
Campers pack their own essentials—Bible, flashlight, and shoes that don’t flinch at dirt—but meals, snacks, and a “Camper Ready Bag” come with the deal. The gift shop’s open for the occasional snack splurge, but the memories? Those are free and built to last.
The Clock’s Ticking
Week 1’s almost here, and spots won’t sit around! If your teen’s craving something deeper than just another scroll, this is the summer to go all in.
