Founded in 1989 by pediatric nurse Sheree Mitchell, Growing Room began as a personal mission to create the ideal environment for early childhood education. Frustrated with the lack of quality childcare options for her own son, Mitchell envisioned a center that was not only colorful and welcoming but also secure, developmentally enriching, and designed to instill character and citizenship. Her dream took root, and Growing Room quickly became synonymous with exceptional care and education, gaining the trust of families and educators alike.
Winning the Best of Georgia Award this year reflects the lasting impact of that vision. “This award is a testament to our team’s dedication and to the families who trust us with their children,” says Brittany Haines, Sheree’s daughter-in-law who runs the company with her husband, Brad. “We work daily to keep the mission of Growing Room alive. It is a family business and when parents, children, and staff join Growing Room, they are joining our family. We’ve built something special together, and it’s incredibly humbling to see it recognized in this way.”
