Remember Krystal? They've Made Some Changes. Now You Know!
Y'all remember Krystal? Maybe it's just us, but it's been a while since we've taken a bite out of the cutest little burgers... or "krystals". The chain known for little burgers has been taking some pretty big steps to propel it into the spotlight lately. You might have seen their spicy commercial debuting the "side chik", a play on words and a contribution to the friend chicken sandwich wars...
Did you know the chain is headquartered in Atlanta? Did you know that the head of creative marketing is the rapper 2 Chainz?
It seems a lot has happened with the home of the original slider as of late. In February the brand announced it's new tagline, which is pretty fitting. The new tagline – "Now You Know." - was announced on The Breakfast Club radio morning show. The tagline leans into the concept that while people previously might not have known the hype around Krystal, now they know. 2 Chainz kicked the poll off on February 6 for fans on his Twitter. This was after Charlamagne Tha God and Ray J echoed 2 Chainz on The Breakfast Club radio morning show challenging brands to put fans in the marketing co-pilot seat. "Now You Know." highlights the brands evolution and puts concepts such as The Side Chik campaign, celebrity partnerships, nationwide expansion, and even a late-night trip to Krystal with your friends, front and center. Because if you didn't recognize these iconic moves before, well "Now You Know."
"Now You Know.' celebrates the idea that our brand has cultivated a strong personality," said Casey Terrell, Chief Marketing Officer for Krystal. "People know us for our delicious food, but they also recognize our cultural resurgence. When we share about what we have been up to and what is in the works we will hear "I didn't know you all were doing that," well now they know.

Krystal is located in 10 states with nearly 300 restaurants and goals to reach 500 stores in the next five years. The brand sells nearly 550,000 Krystal burgers each day and has sold more than 10 billion burgers since inception. Krystal launched its acclaimed “Side Chik” chicken sandwich, which has doubled its previous chicken sandwich sales...you can watch that commercial below...
"As the oldest quick service restaurant chain in the South, we are on the brink of turning ourselves from a legacy brand into a legendary one," concluded Terrell.
We think it's pretty cool these little sliders have come along way. Now you know!
